Parish Council Policies

Lyng Parish Council have adopted the following policies to ensure good governance. Policies are regularly reviewed by the Council.

Lyng Parish Council has a variety of powers and duties, all of which impact directly on the community. A list of these powers and duties can be viewed below.

Breckland District Council are usually responsible for services like:

  • rubbish collection
  • recycling
  • Council Tax collections
  • housing
  • planning applications

Norfolk County Council are usually responsible for services across the whole of a county, like:

  • education
  • transport
  • planning
  • fire and public safety
  • social care
  • libraries
  • waste management
  • trading standards
